A TRUE STORY.

I AM ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN THIS BOOK AS THE AUTHOR WAS ONE OF MY FATHER'S BEST FRIENDS. IN FACT ONE OF THE PERSONS THE BOOK IS DEDICATED TO IS MY FATHER. FRANK WROTE SEVERAL THINGS ABOUT MY DAD. FRANK SENT HIS ROUGH DRAFTS TO DAD AND HE WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO READING THE WHOLE BOOK, BUT UNFORTUNATLY DAD PASSED AWAY IN JANUARY OF 2009. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SO PROUD TO KNOW THAT FRANK HAD DEDICATED IT TO HIM AND THEIR FRIENDS. IF YOU READ THE BOOK, MY DAD'S NAME WAS JACK KNAPP. I AM HIS VERY PROUD DAUGHTER.

The most complete book on the 2nd Battalion I have found

My grandpa was in G Company, which was adjacent to company F. I have been researching like mad to find where he was when he took the pictures in his war album. This book has provided a vivid context to my grandpa's stories. I am currently looking to see if the kind family with the mansion is the same my grandpa took a picture of and labeled with a name.
The only reason I did not give this book 5 stars is the quality of the images. Several are labeled with yellow highlighting or red line, then were copied in black and white. Some are still discernible, but for others the meaning is lost. Sad.

The Bulge Busters

Excellent description of what the 289th Inf. 75th Division went through in WWll, beginning with Christmas 1944 at the Battle of the Bulge. Frank Maresca supplied great photos to accompany the writing. Well done from one who saw what happened up close! My uncle, Donald B. Cohen, was in Company G, and so was the first soldier in that company to be KIA, Henry Kovaleski, who is buried at Gettysburg Nat. Cemetery.
